Second Woman Hospitalized After St. Louis Planned Parenthood Botches Abortion

For the second time this month, pro-life activists helplessly looked on as yet another ambulance rushed away from the St. Louis Planned Parenthood abortion clinic headed for a hospital emergency room. The October 29th incident is the twenty-third documented abortion emergency at this troubled clinic since July, 2009.

Emergency workers spent 14 minutes inside the Planned Parenthood office, the last remaining abortion clinic in Missouri, before emerging with a woman on a gurney covered head to toe with a sheet. The ambulance departed without the use of its lights or siren.

“Something is seriously wrong at the St. Louis Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. One woman after another is pulled out of that mill on a gurney. It’s beyond belief that the authorities there have such apathy toward the plight of these women. Enough is enough!” said Cheryl Sullenger, Operation Rescue’s Senior Policy Advisor.

Socialists Make Happiness Mandatory

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Americans may insist on the right to pursue happiness, but Venezuela now has a formal government agency in charge of enforcing it.

President Nicolas Maduro says the new Vice Ministry of Supreme Social Happiness will coordinate all the "mission" programs created by the late President Hugo Chavez to alleviate poverty.

Oil-rich Venezuela is chronically short of basic goods and medical supplies. Annual inflation is running officially at near 50 percent and the U.S. dollar now fetches more than seven times the official rate on the black market.

Global Warming Stopped 16 Years Ago

Global Warming Stopped 16 Years Ago

With newly released data clearly demonstrating that global warming stopped 16 years ago, why does the Environmental Protection Agency’s Carol Browner claim that, by “reducing our dependence on fossil-fuels we can lessen the growing threats posed by global warming?” Perhaps facts are not of interest in light of her agenda to “change our country’s future,”[1] a task that the EPA seems to be doing quite well. One should ask, just what kind of change does Browner want?

Pushing to go green regardless of the consequences is not an isolated opinion in the EPA, the recently resigned Region 6 administrator Al Armendariz publicly admitted that the EPA’s “general philosophy” is to “crucify” and “make examples” of oil and gas companies.[2]

The EPA Clean Air Act (CAA) is one of the main regulations that the EPA is using to further this agenda. It is a law that will be financially more ruinous than the defeated cap-and-trade legislation and place an enormous financial burden upon the U.S. These new rules will cost the public in the vicinity of $300 to $400 billion a year by significantly increasing the price of energy for everyone. Coal plants are not the only ones that will be affected; under the CAA, churches, schools, restaurants, hospitals and farms will eventually be regulated. Yes farms.

Any farm with aggregate emissions exceeding the CAA permitted threshold will be required to purchase costly permits for each ton of greenhouse gas emitted annually. This insanity is known as the “cow tax,” which means taxing every animal. The EPA estimates approximately 37,000 farms will be subject to the new greenhouse gas permits averaging fees of $23,000 per permit annually. This new penalty will cost an estimated $851 million, which will add to the financial burden of already skyrocketing food costs. All of this and more will be implemented immediately after the 2012 elections.

The worst things about these regulations is that they are based on flawed data attempting to support global warming claims, coupled with wild assumptions of possible catastrophic consequences. To date, there are no credible data revealing a trend of global warming let alone that it is man-made. The Met Office in the United Kingdom has been an outspoken alarmist on global warming and has just quietly released a report revealing there has been no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures for the past 16 years. The current data covers 1997 to 2012, which balances the previous period from 1980 to 1996, a period that demonstrated a slight rise in temperature. In other words, there have always been fluctuations in global temperatures and even isolated spikes, but nothing substantial has changed.

Much of the hype spread by the media in recent years has only included data up until late 2010, which was in fact a very warm year. It is interesting to note that from that point in time until today, temperatures have been much cooler, thus cancelling the much-exaggerated warming trend bantered about by the go-green crowd and dutifully reported by the media.

In light of this information, one must ask why EPA Region 9 administrator Jared Blumenfeld stated that the current administration is focused on killing fossil fuels: “What the EPA and primarily the Department of Energy have been tasked to do at the agency level is really come out with transition pathways away from a fossil fuel economy, both for the peak oil reason and because of climate change, and because of all the other issues related to oil itself.”[3]

Even professor Phil Jones, director of the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia and center of the Climategate scandal, has had to agree with the Met Office’s report that there is no global warming. Flawed scientific models that have been used to predict global warming are riddled with poorly conceived algorithms coupled with incomplete notions as to what exactly influences global temperatures in the first place. Jones admits that, “he and his colleagues did not understand the impact of ‘natural variability’ — factors such as long-term ocean temperature cycles and changes in the output of the sun. However, he said he was still convinced that the current decade would end up significantly warmer than the previous two.”[4] Expectation tends to formulate outcome.

Everyone would like to see the development of clean and cost-efficient energy sources. However, such desires should not lead to the shutting down of our present infrastructure of fuel and electricity that provide us with the energy we depend on, especially when we have no viable alternative. Such goals will only succeed in crippling the U.S. economy, and thus, the global economy. But then again, perhaps this is what our radical environmentalists really want.

European Parliament Rejects Bill Declaring Abortion a Fundamental Human Right

The European Parliament today rejected a report that recommended that EU nations declare abortion to be a human right and to make abortion available within all public health systems of member countries. Adoption of the report would have placed more pressure on pro-life nations like Ireland, Poland and Malta to legalize abortion on demand.

“The report states that 20 member nations permit abortion on demand (generally with a gestational limit). Of the seven remaining nations, three have very liberal restrictions regarding abortion while three nations will perform abortions only under more limited circumstances,” says pro-life analyst Nora Sullivan. “The measure the European Parliament is now considering contains no limits regarding gestational age – leaving open the possibility of elective-abortion-until-day-of-birth as a human right. Doubly disturbing are the severe infringement on conscience protections of physicians (specifically gynecologists and anesthesiologists) that are proposed.”

“This measure claims to be a human rights issue yet it fundamentally ignores the human rights of the three key people involved in this tragic act.  It ignores the most basic right, the right to life, of the baby at the center of the whole issue.  It ignores women’s real needs by hiding them behind the iron curtain of abortion rhetoric.  And it ignores the conscience of the doctor, who is being asked to end a human life after spending years training how to preserve it,” Sullivan said. “The European Union should not be asking physicians to suppress their consciences; it should be trying to find its own.”

After the voting was complete, 351 MEPs voted to send the pro-abortion bill back to committee while 319 voted against the move to zap the legislation.

MADONNA STATUE AMID RUBBLE

A statue of the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus is set at a makeshift altar before a pile of stones that was the 180-year-old Our Lady of Light Church in Loon, Bohol province, a day after a 7.2-magnitude quake destroyed the church.

MARIBOJOC, Bohol—Two statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary stand—without any blemish—amid the ruins of two churches in Maribojoc and Loon towns following Tuesday’s devastating earthquake. It was enough for residents to raise their hopes that life will get better.

“It was a miracle,” Carol Ann Balansag said after residents of Barangay (village) Poblacion were surprised to find the 18th-century statue standing askew but without any scratch on the rubble of what used to be the Santa Cruz Parish Church.

The same feeling of amazement was felt by at least 600 people staying in makeshift tents on the church grounds of the Our Lady of Light Parish Church in Barangay Napu in Loon town. They were teary-eyed when they saw the grotto of the Birhen sa Kasilag (Our Lady of Light).

“The earthquake destroyed the church, but it spared our patron,” said Fr. Tom Balatayo, one of the residents.

Medical student becomes pro-life after seeing baby’s limbs torn off in suction abortion | LifeSiteNews.com

  • Thu Oct 17, 2013 13:09 EST

October 14, 2013 (LiveActionNews) - Some time ago, I was sent this testimony from a medical student who preferred not to leave a name. He had just witnessed an abortion as part of his training. Deeply troubled, he wanted to tell someone. He was haunted by what he had seen.
Abortion becomes very real when it is seen instead of viewed as an abstract moral and political debate.
The student starts out by saying that he was firmly in the pro-choice camp before witnessing the abortion:
To begin, I must say that until yesterday, Friday, July 2, 2004, I was strongly pro-choice. I am a pre-medical student, and being very scientific, I understood that the mass of cells that forms the fetal body is not often capable of survival before 24 weeks in the womb. I am also somewhat liberal, and I believed that every woman should have the right to choose what she did with her body and one that could potentially be growing inside of her.
The student had heard the pro-choice movement’s slogans. He took them at face value, believing that the unborn baby was “a mass of cells” and not an individual human being. He felt that a woman “had the right to control her body” and did not sympathize with the tiny baby inside her. He did not believe in the child’s humanity or right to life.

Then he took the opportunity to see an abortion performed. Because of his pro-choice beliefs, he did not expect to be disturbed by anything he would see:

15,000 Roses to Fatima

Roses WEB
For years now America Needs Fatima delivers to Fatima, Portugal, a red rose for every person who commits to lead a Public Rosary Rally every October, and a white rose for every person who donates toward the nation-wide effort. Every year these rallies are scheduled on or close to October 13, the feast of the last apparition of Fatima and the miracle of the sun. This year, there were 11,247 groups simultaneously praying for our country and the world all across America–2,000 more than in 2012!

Therefore, the roses delivered to the Fatima Shrine for October 13 grow in number each year.
When a gentleman gives his mother a dozen roses, don’t her eyes light up? If he wishes to make a deeper impression and doubles that number, can’t he expect a tear?  Imagine 1,250 times twelve and that is the number delivered this year to Our Lady at Fatima–15,000 roses!

New Fed Candidate is Pro-Abortion

Janet Yellen, the new candidate to head the Federal Reserve, is both a money-printer ... and pro-abortion. This can be seen on the forms that she filed listing her associations and finances. Here, on Page 42 of the disclosure/hearing transcript, are the organization memberships she declared. Screen shot 2013-10-09 at 4.03.44 PM
Not just NARAL, not just Planned Parenthood, but California's NARAL affiliate as well. If she can't get the life issue right, will she get money right?

The Charge of the Rosary Brigade

Written by John Horvat II

When I first heard that America Needs Fatima had set a goal of 10,000 Public Square Rosary Rallies for 2013, I thought to myself that this was not just an ordinary crowd but a veritable army or brigade. The invitation to pray publicly for America’s future on such a massive scale enthralled me. When the number of rallies surged to over 11,000, I was awestruck. The idea of a brigade stayed with me in the days before the rally as I prepared myself to venture out into the public square. This was truly the Charge of the Rosary Brigade!

Indeed, it would appear madness for a single individual to defy our culture and pray publicly in the public square for America’s conversion. Now I was part of a whole brigade. Like the soldier that takes comfort in knowing he is not alone in the midst of the battle, so also I was comforted knowing that I was joined by others in my particular rally and yet hundreds of thousands more in 11,000 other rallies across the nation.

With lines of Alfred Lord Tennyson’s famous poem, “The Charge of the Light Brigade,” running through my mind, I took courage, and on that October 12 morning, rode into the culture of death not with the six hundred but with the 11,000.

Of course, there were obstacles to be confronted. True to Tennyson’s narrative, we also faced adversity. There were smirks to the right of us, insults by passersby on the left. Indifference scattered all about. But the conviction that I was with others only served to embolden me to surge ahead and pray all the louder.

In such circumstances, I did not stop to think out each detail of our mission. We were focused on our great goal: to ask Our Lady’s intercession for all the moral problems we face. In the thick of our public square charge, ours indeed was not to reason why but to do and die as we defied the culture of death with the 11,000!

My rally was a small one in the nation’s capital. It was but a small episode of the whole battle. We were situated on a busy intersection of Connecticut and Calvert streets. It was a trendy part of town with plenty of foot traffic yet full of those who hardly shared our perspective. We occupied one of “their” corners with our banner and standard. On the other side of the street, there gathered groups of people that formed what seemed like a “counter” rally of spectators who looked upon us with disbelief and even scorn.  It was truly a test of wills taking place on that corner on a drizzly October day.

Thousands of pedestrians and drivers witnessed this astonishing scene of bold witness. A few passersby broke ranks and join us in prayer. Others walked up and encouraged us with exclamations of God bless you! But many showed disdain for our prayers, uttered gratuitous insults or feigned indifference. Ours was the task to endure ridicule and redouble our prayers as we defied the culture of death with the 11,000!

Decade after decade, we advanced our rosary, an act repeated across the nation. It was wondrous to be at that busy intersection. We were part of a huge brigade that stormed heaven with our prayers at this moment when our nation is full of great difficulties.
We were those who grieved for the nation and sought heavenly solutions to our moral problems.

We were honored to be part of those who defied the culture of death, broke through indifference and scorn, and presented our entreaties to the Blessed Mother. From this day forward, we can say we were part of the Charge of the Rosary Brigade – that noble 11,000!

Washington Judge Repremanded for Refusing to Officiate at Same-Sex "Weddings"

by Kirsten Andersen

OLYMPIA, WA, October 8, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Washington state judge has been officially reprimanded by the Judicial Conduct Commission after refusing to officiate same-sex weddings for what he said were “philosophical and religious reasons.”

Thurston County Superior Court Judge Gary Tabor first came under scrutiny by the Commission after Washington voters approved a measure late last year authorizing same-sex “marriage” in the state.  Immediately prior to the law’s taking effect, in a private meeting between judges and court personnel, Tabor had expressed discomfort with the idea of officiating gay nuptials.  One of the attendees later leaked his comments to the press, which reported them widely.

Tabor told reporters at the time that his opposition to same-sex marriage was personal and rooted in his religious views.  Because judges are permitted, but not required to officiate weddings, Tabor said he believed he had the right to choose to officiate only those marriages he was comfortable supporting, as long as a substitute could be easily found to replace him.  Eventually, though, the media frenzy prompted Tabor to announce he would simply no longer officiate any weddings at all, in order to avoid the perception of bias.

But in May of this year, the Judicial Conduct Commission filed a complaint against Judge Tabor, arguing that in refusing to perform gay weddings, he violated the state’s anti-discrimination law, which names sexual orientation as a protected class, and that his personal statements against gay marriage could cause people to lose their faith in the justice system.

This week, Tabor agreed to sign his name to a formal admonishment – the lowest form of censure issued by the Commission – in which he agreed that by publicly expressing his religious opposition to same-sex “marriage” and officiating weddings only for opposite-sex couples, he “appeared to express a discriminatory intent against a statutorily protected class of people, thereby undermining public confidence in his impartiality.”

Tabor agreed that his stated views “could well have created the impression he might be less than fair to a lesbian or gay person” in the divorce and custody battles that are sure to follow the legalization of same-sex “marriage.”

While the Commission conceded that Tabor “initially concluded, in good faith, that he could ethically decline to perform same-sex weddings based upon his personal religious views so long as same-sex couples were accommodated by having access to another judge without delay,” they claimed “his analysis did not adequately take into account the unique and integral role judicial officers play in our constitutional scheme of justice, and how a judge must not only be impartial, but must also be perceived as impartial, in order to properly fulfill that role.”

Judge Tabor was not available for comment, but the Thurston County Superior Court released a statement saying: “Judge Tabor has accepted the Judicial Conduct Commission decision. It provides guidance to all judges in Washington state. No same-sex couples will be denied the right to be married in Thurston County.”

I'm Not Making This Up: A Secular Protest Against a Public Square Rosary Rally!

Atheists spend an awful amount of time trying to deny the existence of God who they say does not exist.

The most recent example are a group of atheists who are organizing against our rosary rallies.  Check out this press rlease:
