ANSA news agency reports: - A priest presented a calendar dedicated to the transgender community of Genoa in Italy.
At a launch, Father Andrea Gallo was with 12 transgender models, each representing a different month of the year. "Defending one's rights against hypocrisy" and "giving a voice to the voiceless" was the reason for supporting the calendar, said Gallo. It is the second time in a week that an Italian clergy member has taken an openly progressive stance on sexual identity. Breaking with the Vatican line, Ragusa bishop Paolo Urso said Thursday that the state should recognise gay couples.
