Service Planned to Mourn Geese Euthanized in Oregon

BEND -- To mourn the death of 109 Canada geese that were euthanized at the behest of the Bend Park & Recreation District, some city residents plan to hold a memorial service at the Galveston Bridge in Drake Park to remember the slain birds.

The birds were killed last week by placing them in garbage-can-sized containers and gassing them with carbon dioxide. It was an effort approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to help the park district reduce the local goose population after various hazing attempts over the past several months did not work.

And abortion?

  1. This is such a sign of how callous the modern world is. They do this for geese and ignore the slaughter of humans.

  2. This reminds me of last weeks experience I had outside the Brookline MA abortion clinic. Most of the people we encountered were indifferent to such a clinic in their own neighborhood. That same day Bostonians were informed about the dreaded Asian Long Horned Beetle which appeared near an aboretum. This tree eating pest caused a cry of alarm. THere were press conference, and appeals for help, to save their beloved trees. Where is the alert for humans beings being killed in the womb? This is an abomination!!!!
